Geology & Geologic Hazard

Slate Geotechnical Consultants provides a broad range of geology and engineering geology related services ranging from reconnaissance of slopes to probabilistic seismic hazard evaluations for high-risk dams. Our practice includes developing seismic source characterization models for seismic hazard analyses, as well as qualitative and quantitative assessment of the potential for earthquake-related hazards. We work closely within design teams to provide geologic context and to develop appropriate rock and soil parameters for each site, with careful consideration for the needs of the existing or planned structure. We evaluate the potential performance issues that hazards may pose to the proposed or existing facility and provide recommendations to mitigate to an acceptable performance level.
