Description

As a Project Geotechnical Engineer with Slate, you’ll be joining a world-class group of engineers, geologists, and earthquake scientists with one primary guiding principle: Do Good Work.

So, what kind of work is that exactly? Our work is heavily focused on providing earthquake engineering solutions to a diverse list of clients and projects.

Our Project Geotechnical Engineers are experienced working on geotechnical-based engineering problems including: slope stability evaluations, earthquake hazard (PSHA and DSHA), seismic site response analysis, consolidation settlement calculations, liquefaction triggering and hazard evaluations, foundation design support (both shallow and deep foundation elements), lateral earth pressure calculations, and groundwater seepage evaluations.

At the Project level, you would be expected to manage the execution of project tasks, including: performing and/or managing field assignments (subsurface investigations, construction observation of earthwork and foundation components, visual inspections, and instrument readings), preparing detailed engineering calculation packages, writing portions of reports under the direction and supervision of senior team members, managing budgets and deliverables, and participating in client meetings/discussions.
