Barry Zheng, PhD
Dr. Barry Zheng specializes in geotechnical engineering with proficiency in numerical modeling to assess the static and seismic behavior of foundations and embankment dams. His practice includes review of existing subsurface information to characterize the analysis of foundations, liquefaction potential, and lateral earth pressures for existing hospital buildings. He performs detailed probabilistic liquefaction and slope stability analyses of existing dams that include assessment of liquefaction potential and numerical modeling of seismic slope deformations.
During his graduate studies, Dr. Zheng focused on the investigation of the fundamental behavior of offshore foundations to cyclic loading using centrifuge experiments and numerical simulations in OpenSees.
